So when do We get to see it then??
This year at the Media Guardian Edinburgh International Television Festival, or MGEITF (what an crazy acronym, right- does that even count?), which runs from August 23rd to 25th, a very special screening is set to take place: episode 1 of Doctor Who season 7.
According to the Guardian, “The Doctor Who showrunner, Moffat, will give a masterclass on BBC1’s Sherlock, along with his co-creator, Mark Gatiss, and the producer, Sue Vertue, and there will be an exclusive preview screening of the first episode of the next series of Doctor Who.”
If you remember, this is the episode with the Daleks… all the Daleks.
So, what does this mean for us, the typical viewers, when do we get to see it?
Looking at past history, I’m going to say anywhere in September. Last year, episode 6.8 Let’s Kill Hitler, was previewed at the same Edinburgh festival, and screened on BBC just a day afterwards, so following that logic, I guess we could be looking as early as the following weekend, which would be August 26th (If it airs in the UK on the 25th). I’d be perfectly happy with September as well.
And just for fun, here’s some more random Whoness (not sure if this beats the Tesla Coil/Faraday Suit theme, but still awesome):
